Welcome to the Tailout

Where the water is clear & the beer is fresh

Whether you’ve spent the day enjoying world-class cold smoke, casting size 22 midges to rising rainbow trout, or just had a plain exhausting day at work, Tailout Brewing is here to quench your thirst.

Castlegar, BC is the hub for all outdoor adventures in Southern British Columbia, with world class skiing and fishing at the top of the list. Locals and tourists alike crave a location to unwind after a long day of powder turns or finicky trout and chat about the day’s success over a cold pint.

Tailout Brewing will strive to use Canadian made products and locally sourced ingredients. Patrons will be afforded the latest fishing and snow reports with no shortage of epic pictures. Come join us in our taproom and tell us about your adventures while enjoying the best beer in British Columbia.

Our Core Lineup

Our Taproom

Open 7 days a week, come in for a visit

The brewery features a comfortable, rustic-style tasting room that is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a pint or two after a long day of outdoor adventures.

We keep a couple of regular beers on tap and then rotate styles through the other six taps regularly so there is always something fresh and unique to try. Although food is not offered in-house, patrons are encouraged to order in from the Grand Buddha Bistro located upstairs or from other local restaurants. We also host regular events, including live music, trivia nights, fly-tying clinics, cribbage tournaments, and the ever-popular Pint of Knowledge, a monthly event that features a science speaker talking about their area of expertise.

Tails of Adventure

Single Spey IPA

When the wind is howling down the river and that perfect seam feels just out of reach, it’s time to go for a Single Spey. Just like the cast, this IPA is perfectly balanced. Warrior hops bring out a notable bitterness that is seamlessly counterbalanced with citrusy notes of Cascade, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops. When it’s time to hit the river, don’t forget a Single Spey.

Bonfire Brown

A clear sky on a long winter’s night. The sound of laughter from friends. An acoustic guitar strumming to the beat of a forgotten song. That distinctive noise of a beer can being opened. All backlit by a crackling bonfire. Perfect.

Chromer Kölsch

The tailout is just the right depth. The water is the perfect speed. Cast down and across. Heart starts to race as the fly moves through the seam. A bright flash of chrome. Fish on!
